The Spoon Theory

Ok, so it's not really a theory, but it's by far the best explanation I have ever heard of what it's like to live with a chronic debilitating illness. Since is a copyrighted piece, I can't copy and paste it, but it's a must read. For whatever reason, my lovely iPad isn't allowing me to hyperlink, so please just copy and paste into your browser. It is very worth a read.

  1. Thank you for sharing this. I love the website butyoudontlooksick.com (partially because it's an awesome name... good articles too), but somehow I've never read about spoon theory. What a great, concrete way to describe illness, exhaustion, pain, etc. - everything that adds up to be chronic illness.

I feel like spoon theory is what I've been trying to explain to others (and myself) using too many words or simply not enough concrete examples. I'm going to refer back to this article in the future.

However, now, I must go take a nap. :) Love you, M! Miss you too.

  2. Isn't it great? Christine and her website are my new Internet BFFs! Oh yeah, not to mention she's a New Yorker (Long Island style) which IMHO makes her extra cool! Lol.
